Kitchen Retrofit.
The Brief.
We were commissioned to retrofit an exisitng kitchen, designing additional storage in an unused chimney breast alongside manufacturing new door fronts for existing cabinets.
What Did We Do?
We created a bespoke pantry shelving unit to make the most of the space in the chimney breast, which we hid behind full length Birch Plywood doors. The doors featured recessed hinges and handles, which were painted to match the wall colours. Cutting the doors around the feature skirting boards created a seamless look within the space.
We replaced the existing cabinet doors in the gantry kitchen with Birch Plywood, creating a continuous aesthetic from the dining room into the kitchen. The original overhead doors contained glass inserts which we salvaged and inserted into our new frames.
The cabinet doors feature a combination of insert handles, again painted in the wall colour, and bespoke leather pull handles. The leather used for these handles was surplus material sourced from one of Walsalls’ last remaining leather companies.
