Behind Closed Doors.
We were approached to design + manufacture new wardrobe fronts whilst retaining the original Mid-Century interior cabinetry.
The Brief.
We designed Mid-Century inspired sliding doors; using a material palette of Beech Plywood and Teal Formica. Installing a frame secured to floor, walls, and ceiling for the doors to run in. We had to accommodate for some discrepancies in the walls by scribing in the frame on site.
We reconfigured the existing interior cabinetry to best utilise the space inside. Creating a divided his + hers rail system with a shared cabinet bank inbetween. This setup also allowed for a full width shelf to make the most of the height of the space.
Inset handles in alternate material create a visual connection between the doors, whilst offering an opportunity to add some Mid-Century inspired geometric shapes into the design.
